The Beefy Boys Burger Chain Opens in Oxford

The Beefy Boys, a popular burger restaurant chain, has opened its new branch in Oxford's Westgate shopping centre. The restaurant is now open to the public following a VIP launch event. Its arrival adds another national brand to the city's dining scene.

- The Beefy Boys originated from four childhood friends barbecuing in their Hereford garden. Their journey into the restaurant business began after they won the "Best Burger" award at the UK-based BBQ competition, Grillstock, in 2014. - This win earned them a spot at the World Food Championships in Las Vegas, where they surprisingly secured 2nd place. A decade later, in 2024, they returned to the competition and placed 4th in the world. - The Oxford restaurant is the company's fifth location, joining others in Hereford, Shrewsbury, Cheltenham, and Bath. The brand was founded by four friends: Anthony 'Murf' Murphy, Daniel Mayo-Evans, Christian Williams, and Lee Symonds. - The new 100-cover restaurant is situated on the rooftop level of the Westgate Oxford shopping centre and features an open kitchen and a central bar. - The Beefy Boys are known for using 100% Herefordshire beef in their patties. Their menu includes award-winning creations like the "Oklahoma Onion Boy" burger. - The chain has received national recognition, winning "National Burger of the Year" at the National Burger Awards in 2023. Co-founder Anthony 'Murf' Murphy was also crowned "National Burger Chef of the Year" at the same event. - In addition to their restaurants, the company operates two food trucks that travel to events across the country. They have also released a Sunday Times bestselling cookbook.
