GEEKOM Launches New $600 Mini PC
The GEEKOM A5 Pro 2026 Edition has launched, aiming to set a new benchmark for mini PCs in the $600 price range. The company claims the compact desktop offers a rare blend of high performance for daily tasks and solid build quality.
At the core of the A5 Pro is an AMD Ryzen R5 7530U processor, a 6-core, 12-thread chip that can reach speeds of up to 4.5GHz. The launch configuration includes 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1TB SSD, positioning it as a strong contender in its price bracket. The machine is geared towards productivity and development tasks, with GEEKOM stating it can handle virtual machines and Docker environments. While capable of running light games like *League of Legends* and *CS:GO* at 1080p, reviews of similar models suggest it is slower with demanding photo editing and 3D rendering tasks. Physically, the device is highly compact with a volume of just 0.47 liters and can be attached to the back of a monitor with an included VESA mount. Connectivity is extensive for its size, featuring multiple USB 3.2 Type-A and Type-C ports, two HDMI 2.0 outputs, a 2.5G Ethernet port, and an SD card reader. For future-proofing and customization, the system's memory is user-upgradable to 64GB. Storage is also expandable up to 3TB, utilizing both M.2 2280 and M.2 2242 slots for multiple solid-state drives. GEEKOM's IceBlast 3.0 cooling system is designed to maintain performance under load while keeping noise levels below 30 decibels. The chassis is a metal construction with a reinforced internal frame, and the company provides a 3-year warranty. The launch comes as the mini PC market experiences significant growth, with some analysts projecting the market to exceed $40 billion by 2032. This expansion is driven by the rise of remote work and the increasing demand for compact, energy-efficient computing solutions in both homes and businesses.
