SiteGround Launches AI App Builder
Web hosting platform SiteGround has launched Coderick AI, a new tool designed to let small businesses build custom software without technical expertise. The move aims to lower the financial and skills barrier for custom app development.
The Coderick AI tool works through a process SiteGround calls "vibe coding," where users describe their desired website or application in a chat-like interface using natural language. The platform then leverages large language models to generate a production-ready application, complete with a functional front-end and back-end. Unlike many AI code generators that simply output code snippets, this platform integrates a full suite of services. Every project built with the tool is automatically hosted on SiteGround's infrastructure and includes version control, user authentication, and advanced security protections from the start. This launch signals a strategic shift for the 20-year-old web hosting company, moving from a passive infrastructure provider to an integrated creation platform. By bundling the development and deployment process, SiteGround aims to capture users at the idea stage rather than waiting for them to need hosting for an externally-built project. The tool is designed for a range of users, from entrepreneurs building a minimum viable product (MVP) to agencies creating client websites and businesses developing internal tools like CRMs or dashboards. SiteGround offers a free trial for Coderick AI that allows users to test the service. Paid plans operate on a credit-based system for AI chat interactions and start at $10 per month when billed annually, with higher tiers offering more projects, storage, and credits. This launch enters a booming market, with the global AI builder market projected to grow from $8.1 billion in 2025 to $32.4 billion by 2035. The broader trend shows rapid adoption, with Gartner forecasting that 70% of new enterprise applications will use low-code or no-code technologies by 2026.
