Jill Scott Returns After Decade

Jill Scott released the official video for "Pressha," the lead single from her new album — her first studio release in over 10 years. The visuals mark a major comeback for the neo-soul legend, with fans eager for her signature poetic approach to return.

Scott's last studio album, "Woman," was released in July 2015. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, marking her second album to reach the top spot. The forthcoming album is titled "To Whom This May Concern" and was announced for a February 13, 2026 release. The project, her sixth studio album, will feature 19 tracks. While "Pressha" is the latest single, the album's lead single was actually "Beautiful People," which was released in early January 2026. The new record includes collaborations with artists like Ab-Soul, J.I.D., and Tierra Whack. The break from recording was not a retreat from the spotlight. During this time, Scott has been active as an actress, appearing in the CW series "Black Lightning" as Lady Eve and portraying James Brown's second wife in the biopic "Get On Up." Scott also has upcoming acting projects, including reprising her role in a new installment of "Why Did I Get Married?" for Netflix and a recent guest appearance on the hit show "Abbott Elementary." Despite the hiatus between studio albums, Scott has remained a consistent presence on the road. In 2023, she launched an extensive U.S. tour to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of her acclaimed debut album, "Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds Vol. 1." The three-time Grammy winner explained her break from recording wasn't due to a creative block but a desire to "live life." She cited experiences like perimenopause and raising a teenager as things she needed to step away from the studio to focus on.
