Jazz Guard Clarkson Out for Season

The injury sidelining Jordan Clarkson for the rest of the season is a medical procedure to address plantar fasciitis in his left foot. This issue has been a recurring problem for Clarkson, with multiple instances of him being listed as day-to-day or missing games due to foot and plantar fasciitis injuries throughout the 2024-25 season. Before being shut down, the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year was a key offensive contributor for the Jazz. In 37 appearances during the 2024-25 season, Clarkson was averaging 16.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. His absence leaves a significant void in the team's scoring and playmaking. This is not the first time Clarkson has dealt with significant injuries. In the 2023-24 season, he missed the final ten games due to lower back soreness and also sat out six games with a right groin strain. He also had a notable thumb and finger injury in early 2023. The Utah Jazz are currently struggling near the bottom of the Western Conference with a record of 18-40, placing them 13th. Their upcoming opponents, the New Orleans Pelicans, are also having a difficult season, holding a 17-42 record and sitting in 14th place in the West. Clarkson's future with the team was solidified in July 2023 when he signed a three-year, $55 million contract extension that runs through the 2025-26 season. His veteran presence and scoring ability have been crucial for a Jazz team in the midst of rebuilding.
