Itineris Opens Global Tech Hub in Hyderabad
Utility SaaS provider Itineris is launching a new Global Tech & Innovation Center in Hyderabad. The hub will consolidate its India operations and scale to 150-200 engineers to support its global SaaS platform engineering.
The new Itineris hub formalizes years of collaboration in the region, building on a strategic plan developed over the last 18 months. The center is a partnership with ANSR, a firm specializing in establishing and scaling Global Capability Centers (GCCs) for multinational corporations across India. Itineris CEO Edgard Vermeersch cited Hyderabad's rare combination of deep engineering talent and a governance environment that enables innovation at scale as key factors in the decision. The Hyderabad team will be integral to the joint development of Itineris' global product portfolios, including its core UMAX and Verity platforms. This move is designed to create a 24/7 global service availability for the company's worldwide utility customers. The center will focus on core product development for these AI-powered platforms which support utilities in North America and Europe. Itineris' flagship product, UMAX, is a SaaS platform for water and energy utilities built on Microsoft Dynamics 365. The suite provides CIS, CRM, and ERP solutions that leverage AI to help utilities streamline operations, manage assets, and enhance customer experience. The platform's open architecture allows for integration with third-party solutions and mobile applications. The launch taps into Hyderabad's rapid emergence as a leading GCC hub, which has recently attracted 40% of all new GCCs set up in India, outpacing Bengaluru. The city is now home to over 355 GCCs employing more than 300,000 professionals. This growth is fueled by a strong talent pool, robust infrastructure, and proactive government policies from the state of Telangana. The inauguration was led by Sreekant Lanka, Chief Strategy Officer for the IT, Electronics & Communications (ITE&C) Department of the Telangana government. He noted that Hyderabad is no longer just a participant in global technology but is actively shaping it, with platforms developed in the city supporting mission-critical water and energy utilities across the US and Europe.
