Kempsville High School Boys Basketball Heads to State Tournament

The Chiefs entered the Class 5 Region A tournament as the 6th seed, pulling off two significant upsets to clinch their spot in the state tournament. Their regional run was characterized by narrow victories and resilient performances. Their qualifying campaign began with a tight 70-68 victory over the 3rd-seeded Indian River High School. This was followed by an even more impressive 79-66 win against the 2nd-seeded Princess Anne High School in the regional semifinals. The team's journey to the state tournament was sealed despite a close 68-65 loss to top-seeded Green Run High School in the Class 5 Region A final. As the regional runner-up, Kempsville secured one of the two state tournament berths from their region.
