SGA Powers Thunder Past Knicks

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dropped 26 points and 8 assists on 68% true shooting as Oklahoma City beat the Knicks 100-92, capping a perfect 3-0 road trip. Despite SGA calling it a "bad" game by his standards, the Thunder's young core continues to mature and build playoff momentum.

While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge, it was a crucial performance from Chet Holmgren that pushed the Thunder to victory. Holmgren poured in 28 points, tying his career-high with six three-pointers, and pulled down eight rebounds. His scoring was vital in a game where the Thunder had to fend off a surging Knicks team. The game was a tale of two halves, with the Knicks exploding for 40 points in the third quarter to take the lead. Oklahoma City's defense, however, clamped down in the final frame, holding New York to just 20 points in the fourth quarter to secure the win. This victory marked the Thunder's fourth consecutive win and concluded a perfect 3-0 road trip. The win also snapped the Knicks' three-game winning streak. Historically, the Thunder have had the upper hand in this matchup in New York, with the Knicks not having beaten them at home since December 2017. For the Knicks, Karl-Anthony Towns put up a dominant performance with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Jalen Brunson facilitated the offense with a season-high 15 assists, but struggled with his shot, going just 5 for 18 from the field for his 16 points. OG Anunoby also contributed 16 points, but he and Brunson both missed potential game-tying three-pointers on the final possession.
