Gambit Security Raises $61M
Gambit Security emerged from stealth with a $61 million raise across seed and Series A rounds to build an AI-native enterprise resilience platform. The substantial funding signals strong investor confidence in AI-driven cybersecurity solutions.
The funding round was led by prominent venture capital firms Spark Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and the cybersecurity-focused Cyberstarts. The entire $61 million, spanning both seed and Series A, was raised in under 12 months, signaling significant investor conviction in the company's approach. Gambit Security was co-founded by CEO Alon Gromakov, who previously served for over seven years in Unit 8200, the Israeli Military Intelligence's elite cyber and intelligence unit. This background in offensive cyber operations informs the company's strategy for building defensive resilience. The Tel Aviv-based startup argues that traditional backup and recovery methods are failing. In its own analysis of enterprise environments, Gambit found that while most companies have extensive backup systems, only about 5% of those systems were actually resilient enough to recover from a ransomware attack. Gambit's platform operates by continuously mapping an organization's entire technology stack, including cloud infrastructure, security tools, and backup systems. This allows the AI-powered system to identify resilience gaps and validate recovery paths in real-time, moving beyond static, often outdated, recovery plans. Beyond just cyberattacks, the platform is designed to ensure business continuity through critical system failures and other technical disruptions. The company also claims its solution can reduce cloud storage costs by at least 10% by eliminating redundant and inefficient backups. The new capital will be used to accelerate product development and expand Gambit's sales and customer success teams. The company, founded in September 2024, already has around 60 employees and serves enterprise clients in finance, retail, healthcare, and technology.
