Pactum Raises $54M for AI Procurement Tools

AI firm Pactum has secured $54 million in Series C funding to scale its "agentic AI" platform for procurement. The company's technology aims to automate negotiations, compliance, and supply chain management. The funding round indicates strong investor interest in AI tools that can accelerate and improve resilience in both commercial and defense procurement.

- The $54 million Series C round was led by global software investor Insight Partners, bringing Pactum's total funding to over $100 million since its founding in 2019. Other investors include Atomico, Project A, 3VC, SuperAngel, and Maersk Growth. - As part of the investment, Josh Zelman, a Managing Director at Insight Partners, will join Pactum's board of directors. Insight Partners has over $90 billion in regulatory assets under management and has invested in over 800 companies. - Pactum's AI agents are used by over 50 large enterprises, including Walmart, Honeywell, Maersk, Novartis, and Tetra Pak. The platform has seen a 489% increase in the amount of spend handled by its AI agents and a 2.5x boost in annual recurring revenue. - The company's technology is designed to automate negotiations for high-volume, low-value commercial agreements, which can constitute around 80% of a company's contracts. This allows procurement professionals to focus on more strategic tasks. - The AI agents operate through a chat interface to negotiate terms, and the platform can be set up by uploading spreadsheet data, which simplifies integration with a company's existing supply chain systems. - Pactum's fastest negotiated deal was completed in just 87 seconds, and the largest single deal negotiated autonomously was valued at $140.5 million. - The Estonian-founded company has headquarters in both Tallinn and San Francisco, with its engineering and AI development centered in Estonia. Co-founder Kaspar Korjus previously served as the Managing Director of Estonia's e-Residency program. - "Agentic AI" systems like Pactum's are designed to act with autonomy, allowing them to identify goals, break them into tasks, and execute workflows with minimal human supervision, unlike predictive or generative AI.
