TECNO Teases New AI-Powered Smartphone Lineup
Smartphone brand TECNO is set to unveil its new flagship CAMON 50 Series at MWC 2026 in Barcelona. The launch will focus on the phone family's AI-powered imaging capabilities and a broader ecosystem of integrated AI products.
TECNO's focus on "practical AI" is a direct strategy to solidify its leadership in emerging markets, where it is a top smartphone vendor, particularly in Africa. The brand aims to offer high-end AI features at accessible price points, countering growing competition from other Chinese manufacturers like Xiaomi and Realme. The upcoming CAMON 50 series will be powered by a MediaTek Helio G200 Ultimate chipset and feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Leaks point to a significant battery upgrade to 6,150mAh with 45W fast charging, a notable increase from previous models. The main camera is reported to be a 50-megapixel Sony sensor, with a Pro model adding a 50MP telephoto lens. New AI-driven camera features are at the forefront, including "Super-Zoom FlashSnap" for capturing high-speed motion without shutter lag and "AI Auto Zoom" for intelligent subject framing. The phone will also function as a "Creative AI Hub," incorporating tools like an AI Art Gallery for transforming images and a "One-Tap FlashMemo" for productivity. The MWC 2026 launch extends beyond phones, with TECNO showcasing a broader AI ecosystem connected by its OneLeap platform for cross-device interaction. This ecosystem includes new MEGABOOK laptops, AI-enhanced smart wearables, and even a venture into augmented reality with TECNO AI Glasses. In a new move to appeal to a premium market segment, TECNO will also announce a strategic partnership with Tonino Lamborghini. The collaboration will debut with co-branded devices, including a high-performance gaming mini-PC and a special edition of its POVA smartphone.
