Dana White Announces Multiple Fight Cards

MMA fans are buzzing after Dana White's livestream announcements, including Jiri Prochazka vs. Carlos Ulberg, Ignacio Bahamondes vs. Joel Alvarez, and Mateusz Gamrot vs. Rafael Fiziev. Fans are particularly hyped for Jiri vs. Ulberg but questioning UFC's push for Aaron Pico's ranking despite his record. There's also speculation about Justin Gaethje vs. Ilia Topuria potentially not headlining the UFC White House event due to Gaethje's risk of loss.

The light heavyweight title is once again up for grabs, with former champion Jiri Prochazka slated to take on the surging Carlos Ulberg at UFC 327 on April 11. This championship opportunity arises after Alex Pereira vacated the belt, reportedly to pursue a title in the heavyweight division. Prochazka is coming off impressive knockout victories over Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree Jr., while Ulberg is riding a nine-fight winning streak. The lightweight clash between Mateusz Gamrot and Rafael Fiziev is a highly anticipated rematch. Their first encounter in September 2023 ended abruptly when Fiziev suffered a knee injury in the second round, resulting in a TKO victory for Gamrot. Both fighters are known for their exciting styles, with Fiziev having earned a post-fight bonus in his six bouts prior to the injury. The matchup between Ignacio Bahamondes and Joel Alvarez has a backstory rooted in the UFC rankings. Earlier in 2025, Bahamondes was surprisingly removed from the top 15 lightweight rankings and replaced by Alvarez. However, Alvarez subsequently pulled out of a scheduled fight due to injury, with reports suggesting Bahamondes would regain his ranked spot. Aaron Pico, a much-hyped prospect who spent his entire early career with Bellator MMA, recently made his UFC debut in August 2025. Despite the anticipation surrounding his arrival, he suffered a first-round knockout loss to Lerone Murphy via a spinning back elbow. This decisive loss has led to some fans questioning the promotion's continued high-profile placement for him. Pico is now scheduled to face former Bellator champion PatrĂcio Pitbull at UFC 327. The potential headliner for a UFC event at the White House between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje is now in doubt. Reports suggest that "geopolitical and economic arguments" have made the matchup less likely for that specific card. One of the speculative reasons is the optics of an American fighter, Gaethje, potentially losing to the Spanish-Georgian Topuria at an event celebrating American independence. The fight may be rescheduled for International Fight Week in July.
