Hautajaisyö’s new LP due

Finnish death‑metal outfit Hautajaisyö will release their fifth album, Surun paino (Weight of Sorrow), on March 20 — a sorrow‑steeped melodic record that lands within 48 hours. Fans of dark, melodic heaviness should mark the date (toxicmetalzine.com).

Surun paino is an eight-track full‑length whose listed songs include “Surun Paino,” “Maan Nielemä,” “Kuusi Kantajaa,” “Kasvoton Kuljettaja,” “Hetki Viimeinen,” “Lyhyt Matka Hautaan,” “Eloton” and “Haaskalinnut Minut Muistaa.” (hautajaisyo.bandcamp.com) Inverse Records is handling the release and is selling a CD pre‑order through its shop, while the band’s Bandcamp page offers the album digitally and lists a compact‑disc pre‑order at €14.95. (inverse-records.myshopify.com) The lead single “Maan Nielemä” debuted with an official music video posted to the band’s YouTube channel and was promoted as the album’s first single by MetalShockFinland. (youtube.com) Credits on the album page name Janne Partanen (lyrics, vocals), Sami Lustig (guitars, production and mixing), Simo Pesonen (bass) and Teemu Roth (drums), with mastering by Janne Tuikkala and cover art by Minttu Koskinen. (hautajaisyo.bandcamp.com) Promotional content surrounding the single includes a drum playthrough video from Teemu Roth, and niche metal outlets such as Metal Noise and Voices From The Darkside have published features or notices about the record.
