InsurTech Hackathon to Tackle Climate and Cyber Risks with AI

Startup India has announced a global hackathon called "Reimagining Resilience and Risk," organized by Neutrinos Venture Studio. The event will focus on developing AI-native solutions for major insurance risks, including climate change and cyber threats. Winners will receive prizes, mentorship, and opportunities for pilot programs in the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector.

Neutrinos, the organizer, is an AI-native intelligent automation platform with a specific focus on insurers and financial services. The hackathon is part of the launch of their new Venture Studio, an initiative designed to co-create and scale new ventures for the banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector. The event is a global startup challenge held in partnership with TiE Bangalore and TiE New Jersey, aimed at entrepreneurs, students, and startups. The official launch of the Venture Studio and the "Reimagining Risk" challenge took place at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025, with notable figures like Abhishek Singh from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology present. Beyond the broad topics of climate and cyber risks, the hackathon is targeting five specific innovation areas. These include climate and parametric risk (like agricultural protection), financial inclusion models such as microinsurance, AI-native risk intelligence for underwriting and fraud detection, embedded insurance within digital ecosystems, and cyber risk solutions for small businesses. The ultimate goal for Neutrinos is to fast-track innovation from concept to commercialization. They project an accelerated timeline for winning solutions, with the potential for a minimum viable product (MVP) in 3 to 6 weeks, a pilot program in 6 to 12 weeks, and scaled adoption in under 18 weeks.
