GlobalM teases Distributed Video Gateway

GlobalM added GMDC (GlobalM Device Control) to the GMX stack, providing unified encoder/decoder management and codec configuration through direct API integration (globalm.media). The architecture hinges on a patented "Pod" model where each Pod can operate as ingress, egress, or processing node, allowing gateway functions to be distributed across sites instead of bound to a single appliance (inbroadcast.com). On-demand edge processing now includes software-based frame-rate conversion and HDR-to-SDR conversion offered on a pay-as-you-go basis, turning traditional hardware-only signal processing into elastic cloud functions (globalm.media).
