Hiker Rescue in Harriman Park

Rescue teams extracted an injured hiker from a trail in Harriman State Park [https://x.com/News12WC/status/2031127984183156778] — the hiker is recovering after the challenging operation [https://x.com/i/status/2031127983818211624].

The Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps responded to a call at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday at Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park. New York State Park Police and the Sloatsburg Fire Department assisted in the rescue operation. The rescue teams faced challenging conditions due to muddy and slippery terrain caused by melting snow. The first responders successfully removed the injured hiker from the trail. Harriman State Park has seen other hiker emergencies recently. For instance, Matzil Search and Rescue located two overdue hikers on the evening of March 5, 2026. In another instance, Chaverim of Rockland Search and Rescue responded to two separate incidents involving an injured hiker and dehydrated hikers in August 2025.
