AI Governance Startup Raises $34M Seed

JetStream Security, a Santa Clara-based AI governance platform for enterprise clients, has raised a $34 million seed round. The large financing highlights intense investor interest in tools that help large companies manage the security, compliance, and regulatory risks of AI adoption.

The founding team is a who's who of enterprise security, led by CEO Raj Rajamani, who previously served as Chief Product Officer at both CrowdStrike and SentinelOne. The leadership roster includes veterans from Cohesity, McAfee, and Attivo Networks, giving them deep credibility in building security platforms for large-scale enterprise use. The oversubscribed seed round was led by Redpoint Ventures and included the CrowdStrike Falcon Fund. Underscoring the industry's validation, the angel investor list features a lineup of cybersecurity titans, including CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz, Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport, and Okta Vice Chairman and co-founder Frederic Kerrest. JetStream is tackling the trust deficit holding back enterprise AI adoption; a recent survey showed 93% of executives struggle to implement AI governance and security guardrails. Companies are deploying AI agents and models they cannot fully monitor or control, creating significant unknown risks around data access, system behavior, and cost. The company's core technology, "AI Blueprints," acts as a control plane by creating dynamic maps of how AI operates in an environment. These blueprints track the relationships between AI agents, the models they use, the data they access, and the identities behind every action, flagging deviations from intended behavior in real-time. This funding taps into a rapidly expanding market, with the global AI governance sector projected to grow from approximately $890 million in 2024 to $5.78 billion by 2029, a compound annual growth rate of 45.3%. This growth is fueled by new regulatory frameworks like the EU AI Act and the high cost of AI failures. With 40 employees and engagements already underway with Fortune 500 organizations, JetStream plans to use the capital to aggressively scale its engineering, product, and go-to-market teams. The goal is to move enterprises from AI experimentation to full production with verifiable security and control.
