Song in Hangzhou keeps its star

Song, the Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou restaurant known for Ningbo cuisine, retained its Michelin star in the newly released Shanghai/Jiangsu/Zhejiang guide (thetraveler.org). The repeat recognition signals continuity in the kitchen’s approach to regional flavors and service (thetraveler.org).

Song, the Ningbo-focused restaurant inside Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at Hangzhou Centre, kept its one Michelin star in the 2026 Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang guide. (guide.michelin.com) Michelin announced the new regional edition on April 8, 2026, combining Shanghai with Jiangsu and Zhejiang for the first time. The guide listed 409 restaurants in total, including 77 starred restaurants across the three areas. (guide.michelin.com) Song’s Michelin page lists the restaurant at 8F, Four Seasons Hotel at Hangzhou Center, 493 Zhongshan North Road in Gongshu district, Hangzhou, and classifies it as Ningbo cuisine. Michelin continues to rate it “One Star: High quality cooking.” (guide.michelin.com) That makes this a repeat win rather than a first-time breakthrough. Four Seasons says Song won its first Michelin star in 2025, within a year of opening. (fourseasons.com) The result keeps a Hangzhou hotel restaurant visible in a guide that is now judging a wider regional field. Michelin said the 2026 edition added four new cities to its coverage, expanding the comparison set for restaurants in Zhejiang. (guide.michelin.com) Michelin’s description of Song points to a kitchen that “adds novel twists to Ningbo classics,” while Four Seasons says the restaurant centers on seafood-rich Ningbo flavors. The hotel also says the dining room includes five private rooms and serves lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (guide.michelin.com) (fourseasons.com) Four Seasons identifies the restaurant’s Chinese executive chef as Neal Zeng, or Zeng Donghai. The hotel says he previously worked at Jin Sha at Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake, where he helped the team earn a Michelin star and three Black Pearl diamonds over 14 years. (fourseasons.com) For diners, the practical takeaway is that Michelin’s latest regional list still includes Song as Hangzhou’s one-star address for Ningbo cooking. For the hotel, it means the restaurant enters another guide year with the same rating it carried into the 2026 awards. (guide.michelin.com) (fourseasons.com)
