New Glass Mosaic Mural in NYC

A new public glass mosaic mural celebrating Sicilian heritage is scheduled for unveiling on March 20 at Bar Enzo in Long Island City, New York Queens Gazette.

The mosaic mural is a collaboration between Crayonfou Mosaic Studios and the LIC Partnership. The unveiling ceremony will be held at Bar Enzo on March 20 at 5:00 PM. The mural pays homage to Enzo, a Sicilian immigrant who arrived in Brooklyn during the 1960s. Bar Enzo was founded by Enzo's grandson and is known for its authentic Sicilian cocktails. The bar's decor includes family photos and recreations of the founder's grandparents' home, meant to evoke a warm, familial atmosphere. Colombian-born artist Santiago Rodriguez, who trained in Ravenna, Italy, created the mural using premium glass sourced from Northern Italy. Rodriguez also created Long Island City's largest outdoor glass mosaic mural at the LIC Hotel. He specializes in glass mosaics, blending traditional techniques with contemporary design.
