Transforming Unusable Land into Gardens

A lush tropical garden in Barbados was created in a 100-foot crater [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HB6cL66lXsE]. Anthony Hunt uses air layering for propagation, with roots in 6 weeks in warm climates.

Anthony Hunte purchased ten acres of a former sugarcane plantation in the 1990s to create Hunte's Gardens. He opened it to the public in 2007. The garden is located in a natural sinkhole-like gully, roughly 150 feet deep and 500 feet across, which gives it a unique multi-level environment. Winding footpaths, clearings, and secluded resting areas characterize the space. Air layering is a propagation technique with a high success rate, especially when using good-sized plants. It encourages root growth on a selected section of a tree, ultimately producing a new plant. The new plant will have identical characteristics to the mother plant.
