Iran Threatens U.S. Tech Firms

Iran announced it's targeting facilities of major US tech companies like Amazon and Microsoft in Israel, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reportedly identified several U.S. tech companies, including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Nvidia, IBM, Oracle, and Palantir, as "legitimate targets". These targets include regional offices and infrastructure in Israel and Gulf states like Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This announcement is framed as a shift towards "infrastructure warfare," expanding the regional conflict beyond traditional military engagements. The IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency published a list of 29 locations that Iran has set its sights on destroying. These facilities are critical to commercial and governmental operations in the region. Disruptions could affect enterprise connectivity, latency, and cloud service availability. The listed targets include R&D facilities, cloud support services, data centers, and strategic collaboration centers. This includes Google's Dubai office, Nvidia's R&D center in Haifa, and Oracle's cloud service office in Jerusalem. Financial institutions in Dubai have already begun to step up security measures. Some U.S. tech companies are asking employees in the Gulf region to prioritize safety.
