RayNeo Unveils New AR Smart Glasses

Augmented reality company RayNeo unveiled its latest smart glasses, the RayNeo Air 4 Pro, at MWC 2026, including a special Batman Edition. The new AR wearables became available for purchase on February 27, signaling another entry into the competitive consumer smart glass market.

RayNeo is the consumer AR brand of parent company TCL Electronics, a major player in the global television market. This connection provides RayNeo with significant advantages in display technology, leveraging TCL's extensive research, development, and manufacturing capabilities to push advancements in wearables. The Air 4 Pro's key specifications include dual 0.6-inch Micro-OLED displays that project a virtual screen equivalent to 201 inches. It boasts a 1920x1080 resolution in 2D mode, a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals, and a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, making it usable in various lighting conditions. Audio is handled by a four-speaker system tuned by Bang & Olufsen. A significant technical feature is the glasses' support for HDR10, a world-first for AR glasses, which allows for a wider range of colors and deeper contrast. The device also incorporates an AI-driven feature that can upscale standard dynamic range (SDR) content to HDR in real-time and convert 2D videos into a 3D viewing experience. RayNeo is positioning itself within a competitive landscape that includes players like XREAL, Rokid, and Vuzix. While the enterprise market currently drives a larger portion of AR revenue, the consumer segment is seen as having massive long-term potential as devices become more stylish and functionally integrated into daily life. The company has been actively building out its AR ecosystem, signaling long-term ambitions beyond just hardware. In January 2026, RayNeo raised a reported $143 million in a funding round that included investment from state-owned telecom giants China Mobile and China Unicom, which is expected to aid in product development and sales. According to Counterpoint Research, RayNeo held the #1 position in the global AR glasses market in the third quarter of 2025 with a 24% market share.
