CLAY LA returns to Craft Contemporary in Los Angeles this weekend for its ninth edition, with a three-day ceramic market running April 24-26. (craftcontemporary.org) The event opens with a Preview Night on Friday, April 24, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; tickets are $20 for the public and $15 for museum members. (craftcontemporary.org) The public market follows on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with $9 museum admission, and on Sunday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with pay-what-you-wish entry. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary bills CLAY LA as its signature ceramic marketplace and fundraiser, and says the event brings together emerging and established ceramic artists from across Los Angeles. (craftcontemporary.org) The market sits inside a broader clay push at the museum. Craft Contemporary says hundreds of artists have participated in CLAY LA over the years, and it is also preparing its fourth clay biennial, “tierra,” which opens May 31 and runs through Oct. 25, 2026. (craftcontemporary.org) This year’s vendor list includes Angel Prudencio, CATURA STUDIO, Chunmei Ceramics, DANDI GU, Devin Devon Taaffe Pottery, FHAR Studio, Greg Lowe Arts, Holy Dirt Studio, People’s Pottery Project, Tierra del Sol and Yunting Ceramics, among others. (craftcontemporary.org) Craft Contemporary has also scheduled free drop-in air-dry clay activities from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the market weekend, with materials donated by Laguna Clay & Glaze Co. (craftcontemporary.org) An opportunity drawing will feature select works from participating artists. Preview Night ticket holders get one free drawing ticket, and additional entries will be sold on-site for $5 each; winners will be contacted on April 29 and must pick up prizes in person. (craftcontemporary.org) The market will be held in the courtyard at Craft Contemporary, 5814 Wilshire Blvd., where the museum’s regular hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. By Sunday afternoon, CLAY LA shifts from ticketed access to pay-what-you-wish entry, closing out the weekend with its lowest barrier to browse and buy.
