Burger King’s UK business is pushing ahead with a new expansion drive after reporting higher 2025 sales and lining up fresh borrowing for new sites. (verdictfoodservice.com) The company said revenue rose 10% to £448.7 million in the year to December 31, 2025, while like-for-like sales increased 6.8%. It also secured a £60 million financing facility from Metro Bank and OakNorth, according to reports cited by trade and national outlets. (verdictfoodservice.com; independent.co.uk) Burger King said it plans to open more than 30 restaurants in 2026, with 18 to 20 of them company-operated and the rest run by franchise partners. More than 60 existing sites have also been marked for refurbishment after 31 remodels and seven openings in 2025. (verdictfoodservice.com; aol.co.uk) That would extend a UK estate that now stands at 574 restaurants, with the company saying the latest investment will support expansion in both the UK and Ireland. The plan comes as restaurant operators across Britain face higher wage bills and weaker consumer confidence. (verdictfoodservice.com) Burger King’s UK arm has been in build-out mode for several years under private equity owner Bridgepoint. In 2023, the business reported revenue of £381.8 million, opened 18 restaurants, integrated 74 sites from the Karali Group acquisition, and received £35 million of additional funding from Bridgepoint. (hospitalityandcateringnews.com) The latest accounts trail shows Burger King (United Kingdom) Limited filed full accounts for the year ended December 31, 2024, at Companies House on July 21, 2025. Director changes were also filed on January 30, 2026, including the appointment of Jourdan Reece Daleo and the termination of Christopher Blair Brigleb. (find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk) Chief executive Alasdair Murdoch said the “macroeconomic environment remains challenging,” while pointing to easing inflation in some cost categories. For now, Burger King is still adding stores rather than pulling back. (verdictfoodservice.com)
