Alyssa Healy's ODI Farewell Century
Australian captain Alyssa Healy marked her final One-Day International with a towering 158 runs, leading Australia to a 185-run thrashing of India. Healy's performance is a fitting capstone to her ODI career and underscores her legacy in women's cricket.
Healy's knock of 158 off just 98 balls is the highest individual score in a farewell ODI in women's cricket history. She is only the second woman to score a century in her final ODI, joining South Africa's Johmari Logtenberg. The innings, which included 27 fours and two sixes, was also the highest-ever individual score in a women's ODI against India. The blistering century was her eighth in ODIs, placing her joint-second with Karen Rolton for the most ODI hundreds for an Australian woman. Only former captain Meg Lanning has more, with 15 centuries. Healy reached her 150 in just 95 deliveries, the second-fastest 150 in the history of women's ODIs. This final match, played at Bellerive Oval in Hobart, sealed a 3-0 series whitewash for Australia against India. Before the match, the Indian team gave Healy a guard of honour as she walked to the crease. Healy even bowled two overs during India's unsuccessful chase. Healy took over the full-time captaincy from Meg Lanning in late 2023 and has a winning percentage of 85.71% in ODIs as skipper. While this was her final ODI, Healy is scheduled to play one last international match: a Test against India starting March 6 in Perth.
