Wave of Securities Lawsuits Hits Firms
Investor rights law firms have launched a flurry of class-action lawsuits and investigations. Companies targeted include NuScale Power, Paysafe, and uniQure, with allegations ranging from securities fraud to undisclosed problems following sharp stock declines. The surge reflects heightened investor vigilance in biotech, fintech, and energy sectors.
The lawsuit against NuScale Power centers on its partnership with ENTRA1 Energy LLC, a firm plaintiffs allege had no prior experience in building or operating complex nuclear power projects. This partnership was crucial for deploying NuScale's small modular reactor technology. On November 6, 2025, NuScale revealed its general and administrative expenses had surged by over 3,000% to $519 million, largely due to a $495 million payment to ENTRA1. This resulted in a quarterly net loss of $532 million, a significant increase from $46 million in the same period the previous year. Following this news, NuScale's stock price fell by approximately 14.4%. Paysafe's legal troubles stem from allegations that it failed to disclose its significant business exposure to a single high-risk client. Lawsuits claim this led to understated credit loss reserves and that the company was unlikely to meet its fiscal year 2025 financial guidance. After this information became public, Paysafe's stock price dropped 27.6% to $7.36 per share on November 13, 2025. In the biotechnology sector, uniQure N.V. faces litigation over its leading gene therapy candidate for Huntington's disease. The lawsuit alleges the company misrepresented that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had fully approved the design of a pivotal study. On November 3, 2025, uniQure disclosed that the FDA no longer agreed that the existing study data would be adequate to support a Biologics License Application submission. This news led to a more than 49% plunge in uniQure's ordinary share price, falling from $67.69 to $34.29 in one day. Investors in these companies have deadlines to seek lead plaintiff status in the class actions. The deadline for NuScale is April 20, 2026, for Paysafe it is April 7, 2026, and for uniQure it is April 13, 2026. Law firms such as Rosen Law Firm, Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, and Robbins Geller Rudman & Dowd are representing investors in these cases.
