- Nick Lamparelli has prior experience co-founding two managing general agents (MGAs), one of which designed a completely new algorithm and underwriting model for flood insurance exposures. - His previous role was Managing Partner at the industry media and consulting site Insurance Nerds, where he advised MGAs on market entry and growth strategy. - Lamparelli has a deep background in catastrophe risk, having spent 16 years translating complex catastrophe statistics for firms including AIR Worldwide, Aon, Marsh, and QBE. - LIRG, his new company, operates as a specialist platform focused on building, incubating, and scaling MGAs and managing general underwriters (MGUs). - In his CPO role, Lamparelli will be responsible for designing and launching new specialty underwriting platforms, with a focus on both parametric and traditional risk classes. - A key objective for his position is to reduce the time and cost required to establish new underwriting platforms by aligning technology, underwriting capacity, and strategic oversight. - LIRG's recent initiatives include securing capacity from reinsurer Ocean Re for parametric covers for political violence and terrorism and partnering with MANiT Labs for its reinsurance technology platform. - Lamparelli also serves as a board member for Steadily Insurance Company and was the co-founder and CEO of The Insurance Advocacy Forum of Florida.
