Beyond her signature 200 daily squats, Andréa Sunshine's fitness regimen is far more extensive. The Brazilian-Dutch coach, who resides in Rome, often works out for three to five hours daily, with some sessions lasting up to eight hours. Her routine isn't limited to lower-body exercises and includes a significant amount of cardio, with spinning being a favorite, followed by weightlifting. To fuel her intense and lengthy workouts, Sunshine consumes between six and eight meals a day, amounting to roughly 3,500 calories. Her high-protein diet features a remarkable number of eggs, reportedly up to 150 per month. She also emphasizes vegetables like broccoli, spinach, and green beans while avoiding salt, oil, and sweet vegetables like carrots and pumpkin. She advocates that maturity does not have to mean decline and aims to feel powerful in her body, rejecting the narrative that women should become "invisible, softer and quieter" as they age. Overtraining a single muscle group without adequate rest can lead to overuse injuries, muscle imbalances, and excessive strain on the joints and lower back.
