NVIDIA Expands AI Infrastructure Push in India

NVIDIA is deepening its AI presence in India through multiple strategic partnerships. Yotta is investing $2B in NVIDIA infrastructure, including its latest Blackwell B300 GPUs, while L&T Technology Services is collaborating with NVIDIA to build the nation's largest AI factory. The initiatives aim to establish advanced AI data centers and GPU clusters across the country.

- These partnerships support India's national strategy to build "sovereign AI," ensuring critical data and AI model training are kept within the country's borders in alignment with the government's IndiaAI Mission. - Yotta's investment will deploy 20,736 liquid-cooled NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs to create one of Asia's largest AI superclusters for its Shakti Cloud platform, which is expected to go live by August 2026. - The L&T Technology Services venture will create a "gigawatt-scale" AI factory by expanding its Chennai data center campus to 30 megawatts and building a new 40-megawatt facility in Mumbai. - NVIDIA has also formed a key partnership with Reliance Industries to develop India's own foundational large language models and build out AI data center infrastructure that is planned to eventually reach 2,000 MW. - Major Indian IT services firms including Infosys, Wipro, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) are adopting NVIDIA's AI Enterprise software to create and deploy AI-powered solutions and agents for their global clients. - The Blackwell B300 Ultra GPU features 288GB of HBM3e memory and is built with 208 billion transistors, providing up to 4 times faster AI training and 30 times faster inference performance compared to the previous Hopper architecture. - These collaborations directly advance the IndiaAI Mission, a government program backed by over $1 billion to increase the nation's computing capacity, foster AI innovation, and support the development of sovereign datasets and models. - The strategy extends to the industrial sector, where partners like Tata Motors and Siemens are using NVIDIA's Omniverse libraries to create digital twins for designing factories and automating quality control checks.
