Chicago Gets World's First F1 Hospitality Venue

The world's first official Formula 1 hospitality concept is set to open in Chicago's River North neighborhood this summer. The venue will feature rooftop terraces, racing simulators, and Chicago-themed cocktails, designed to attract high-profile clientele seeking exclusive entertainment experiences.

This new venue is the latest concept from Adam Breeden, the entrepreneur who pioneered the "competitive socializing" trend. His previous ventures, which blend high-end food and beverage with technology-infused games, include the successful mini-golf spot Puttshack and Social DartsĀ® venue Flight Club, both of which already have established locations in Chicago. The business model leans heavily into corporate and private events, with multiple options for exclusive access. The entire 18,000 sq ft venue can be bought out for groups of up to 500, and there are semi-private spaces that can be reserved. For more intimate gatherings, a private "Briefing Room" holds up to 90 guests and includes 10 simulators and a private bar. Bookings for private and semi-private areas require a minimum spend on food and beverage packages, with full payment for the space required in advance. While exact Chicago pricing has not been released, a review of the Boston location noted a cost of around $20 per person for three races, suggesting an accessible entry point for individual clients outside of large events. This concept is part of Formula 1's broader strategy to expand its brand and engage a wider audience, a push that has seen its U.S. viewership skyrocket. F1's parent company, Liberty Media, is a direct equity partner in the arcade venture, signaling a deep investment in these hospitality experiences as a way to cultivate fans outside of the race weekend. The Chicago location at 1 West Grand Avenue is taking over the two-level historic building formerly occupied by Rock Bottom Brewery. The developer, McCaffery Interests, secured a $15.8 million loan to redevelop the prominent River North property, which is set to become F1 Arcade's U.S. headquarters.
