Royal Caribbean Opens Paradise Island Beach Club
Royal Caribbean's Royal Beach Club Paradise Island just opened in the Bahamas, offering exclusive beachfront access for cruise passengers. The new facility earned coverage from U.S. News and represents the cruise line's push into premium shore experiences.
The new Royal Beach Club is a $165 million, 17-acre development on the western end of Paradise Island, accessible to guests via a short water taxi ride from the Nassau cruise port. This venture is the first in Royal Caribbean's "Royal Beach Club Collection" and was developed through a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership with the Bahamian government. Under the agreement, Bahamians will hold 51% of the shares in the beach club, with the remaining 49% allocated to a National Investment Fund for the benefit of the Bahamian people. This partnership structure aims to ensure that the economic benefits are shared locally, with Bahamian businesses and entrepreneurs expected to play a significant role in the club's operation. The beach club, which officially opened to guests in late December 2025, boasts a capacity of around 2,000 visitors daily. It features two distinct beaches, three pools, and private cabanas available for rent. Day passes, which are required for entry and function like a shore excursion add-on, start at over $100 and include food, with options for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage packages. Among the club's signature amenities are the "Ultimate Family Cabana," a two-story private retreat, and the "Floating Flamingo," which is billed as the world's largest swim-up bar. The destination is divided into distinct zones, including areas for families, a "Party Cove" with DJ-spun music, and a more relaxed "Chill Beach." This opening is part of a larger trend of cruise lines developing exclusive destinations for their passengers in the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Royal Caribbean has already announced plans for similar beach clubs in Cozumel and Mexico.
