East Passyunk Avenue boasts over 150 independently owned restaurants and shops, establishing itself as a foodie destination with award-winning restaurants. The area is known for its diverse culinary scene, offering everything from cheesesteaks to Vietnamese cuisine. The East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District actively works to revitalize the corridor, making it a vibrant and walkable neighborhood. Bella Vista's Italian BYOBs provide authentic dining experiences with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Many of these establishments treat customers like family, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Some popular spots include Little Fish, known for seafood, and Monsu, offering a taste of Sicily. Chestnut Hill is known as "Philadelphia's Garden District" and is home to many parks and green spaces. The Chestnut Hill Garden District Fund helps maintain the area's colorful flower plantings and small parks. Some gardens include the outdoor Sculpture Garden at Woodmere Art Museum and the Reading Garden at the Chestnut Hill Free Library. Fishtown has become a hub for breweries, including Evil Genius Beer Company and Other Half Brewing. Forest & Main even opened a location in Fishtown in addition to their Ambler locations. Dock Street Fishtown, which opened in April 2023, features craft beer and cocktails made with local spirits.
