The joint military campaign, dubbed 'Operation Epic Fury' by the U.S., began on February 28, 2026, with the stated objective of dismantling Iran's nuclear and missile programs and forcing a regime change. Coordinated strikes targeted high-value military and government sites in Tehran, Isfahan, and Qom, leading to the death of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Tehran launched a broad retaliatory offensive, firing missile and drone barrages at Israel and U.S. military interests in several Gulf countries, including Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
