UFC Stages $60M White House Card
The UFC will stage a fight card at the White House, spending an estimated $60 million to bring the spectacle to Washington, D.C., according to BBC Sport. TKO Group Holdings is driving the unprecedented promotion, with UFC president Dana White playing a central role. The event is expected to feature star fighters and draw massive global attention due to its historic venue and political symbolism.
The historic fight card is scheduled for June 14, 2026, a date that coincides with both Flag Day and the 80th birthday of former President Donald Trump. The event is being framed as part of the United States' 250th-anniversary celebrations and will mark the first-ever professional sporting event held on the White House's South Lawn. This unprecedented event is a direct result of the long-standing relationship between UFC CEO Dana White and Donald Trump. Their connection dates back to 2001, when Trump's Taj Mahal in Atlantic City hosted UFC events at a time when the sport struggled for mainstream acceptance. White has been a vocal supporter of Trump, speaking at the 2016 and 2024 Republican National Conventions. The $60 million price tag makes this the most expensive production in UFC history, reportedly tripling the cost of the UFC 306 event at the Sphere in Las Vegas, which was over $20 million. TKO Group Holdings does not expect to make a profit, viewing it as a long-term strategic investment in global exposure. Corporate partners are anticipated to cover approximately half of the total cost. No taxpayer funds will be used for the event, with the UFC covering all expenses, including an estimated $700,000 to $1 million just to restore the South Lawn's grass after the event. There will be no public sale of tickets; instead, an exclusive audience of 3,000 to 4,000 attendees is expected, with around 1,000 seats reportedly reserved for members of the military. Fighters are expected to make a unique walk-out from the Oval Office to the octagon. While no fights have been officially announced, TKO CEO Ari Emanuel has suggested the card will feature six or seven bouts. For fans without a coveted invitation, the UFC plans to set up large viewing screens at The Ellipse, a nearby park capable of hosting up to 85,000 people. The main card is expected to be broadcast on Paramount+ and potentially CBS.
