Major League Volleyball Hires First Commissioner

Major League Volleyball has appointed Jaime Weston as its first-ever Commissioner. The move comes as the professional women's volleyball league enters its third season, signaling a new phase of growth and evolution.

Jaime Weston brings a wealth of experience from major sports and entertainment brands, having previously served as a marketing executive at the National Football League for 15 years and as Executive Vice President of Consumer Marketing at Universal Music Group. Her most recent role was Chief Commercial Officer for USA Volleyball, the sport's national governing body. Weston's appointment comes at a pivotal time for Major League Volleyball, which is the result of a recent merger between the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) and a new entity also named Major League Volleyball. This unified league aims to capitalize on the growing popularity of professional women's volleyball in the United States. The league's predecessor, the PVF, demonstrated significant fan interest in its inaugural season, with nearly 400,000 fans attending matches and an average home match attendance of 4,608. The league also saw substantial digital engagement, with 80 million social media impressions and over 250,000 social followers in its first two years. As the first commissioner, Weston will be responsible for the overall management, operations, and strategic direction of the league. Her role will be crucial in navigating the league's growth, which includes plans to expand from eight teams in 2026 to twelve in 2027. This move to a centralized leadership structure is a significant step for a sport that has seen previous professional leagues in the U.S. struggle to find long-term success.
