Coachella will livestream everything in 4K

Coachella Weekend 1 and 2 will be livestreamed across all seven stages simultaneously — and the Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre and Sahara sets will stream in 4K, so you can watch headline production values from home. (consequence.net) The festival runs April 10 and April 17 in Indio with headliners like Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Karol G — and reviewers say the Sahara, Quasar and DoLab stages will be packed with strong electronic acts on Weekend 1. Coachella used to make you choose between a few camera feeds and a lot of missing out. This year, every one of the festival’s seven stages is getting a live stream at the same time, and three of the biggest stages are getting the sharper 4K treatment instead of standard video. (consequence.net) The streams start Friday, April 10, with Weekend 2 following Friday, April 17, and YouTube is carrying the whole thing for free on its Coachella channels. The official YouTube hub says the live coverage begins at 4 p.m. Pacific Time. (youtube.com) The extra detail is not spread evenly across the map. Coachella Stage, Outdoor Theatre, and Sahara are the three feeds getting 4K, which means the festival is putting its highest-resolution cameras on the stages built for the biggest crowds and the most elaborate lighting rigs. (consequence.net) YouTube is also adding a television feature called multiview, which lets viewers watch up to four stages on one screen at once. That turns the home version into something closer to standing in the field and hearing three different sets pulling you in at the same time. (yahoo.com) The timing lines up with a lineup built for spectacle. Coachella’s official 2026 poster lists Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G at the top, alongside names including Anyma, The xx, The Strokes, Young Thug, and Big Bang across the two weekends in Indio, California. (coachellavalley.com) The festival itself still happens at the Empire Polo Club in Indio on April 10 to 12 and April 17 to 19. The stream just makes the site behave more like a broadcast studio, with seven simultaneous outputs instead of one edited highlight reel after the fact. (coachellavalley.com) That matters most on Sahara, which is the tent where Coachella usually puts its biggest dance and hip-hop production. Early guides for Weekend 1 say Sahara, Quasar, and DoLab are especially strong this year for electronic music, with names like Tiga, Adriatique, Subtronics, and Poolside’s Daytime Disco called out as standouts. (nationaltoday.com) Karol G is another reason the stream upgrade is aimed at people who care about staging, not just sound. Rolling Stone’s preview says her set is expected to lean on the scale and visual storytelling that turned her stadium run into one of Latin pop’s biggest live shows. (rollingstone.com) Coachella is also filling the gaps with a nonstop channel called Coachella TV, which is running older performances, documentaries, interviews, and backstage footage from the festival’s 25-year history. So even when one stage is resetting for the next act, the stream is designed to keep you inside the event instead of sending you away. (beatportal.com) The result is that “watching Coachella from home” now looks less like catching a few headline songs and more like having a remote-control version of the grounds. You still cannot feel the desert heat in Indio, but this is the closest the festival has come to letting online viewers wander the whole thing in real time. (consequence.net)
