A new HYROX-focused gym has opened on Longstone Street in Lisburn after an investment of more than £50,000, giving the city its first dedicated center for the race format. (lovebelfast.co.uk) The facility, called HYROCKS HYBRID, was launched by Suzie and Nick Rocks, a husband-and-wife team who say they have completed more than 25 HYROX events between them. The business is aimed at structured hybrid strength and conditioning training tied to race preparation. (lovebelfast.co.uk) Suzie Rocks said she brings more than 22 years of experience in education and came into fitness through half marathons and 10-kilometer races before moving into strength work. The company behind the gym, HYROCKS HYBRID LTD, was incorporated in Northern Ireland on December 19, 2025, with a registered address at 52a Longstone Street, Lisburn. (lovebelfast.co.uk, gov.uk) HYROX is a standardized indoor fitness race: competitors run 1 kilometer, complete one workout station, and repeat that sequence eight times. The official format is the same across events worldwide, which lets athletes compare times on global leaderboards and qualify for a season-ending World Championship. (hyrox.com) That fixed format has helped create a market for training spaces built around the exact demands of the race, including SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, rowing, farmer’s carry, lunges, burpee broad jumps, and wall balls. HYROX says its affiliated training clubs get access to a performance hub with programming and coaching tools built around the sport. (hyrox.com, hyrox.com) The Lisburn launch lands as HYROX expands its training network beyond race weekends. In December 2024, HYROX said its affiliate model had passed 5,000 training clubs globally and that it was rolling out dedicated Performance Centers. (insider.fitt.co) That growth has also drawn in larger fitness brands. Les Mills, which runs group exercise programs for commercial gyms, says its HYROX partnership combines race-specific performance training with its class network. (lesmills.com) For Lisburn, the new gym is a local bet on a format that now has year-round demand, not just event-day interest. For HYROCKS HYBRID, the next step is turning a first dedicated site into a steady community of athletes training for the same eight-run, eight-station race. (lovebelfast.co.uk, hyrox.com)
