Major League Volleyball Hires First Commissioner

Major League Volleyball has appointed Jaime Weston as its first-ever Commissioner. The move signals a new phase of growth for the professional women's volleyball league as it enters its third season.

Weston brings over two decades of experience to the role, including more than 15 years as a marketing executive in the NFL's front office and, most recently, serving as the Chief Commercial Officer for USA Volleyball. A former volleyball player at Georgia Tech, her appointment marks a return to the sport she played to now lead its professional future in the U.S. The league, now in its third season, is an evolution of the Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF), which began play in 2024. In August 2025, the PVF merged with a startup also named Major League Volleyball, unifying the two entities under the MLV brand. The original Major League Volleyball startup brought significant capital and influential figures into the unified league, including over $100 million in funding. Its founding partners included three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadivé, and musician Jason Derulo. Major League Volleyball began its 2026 season with eight teams, including the new Dallas Pulse franchise. The league has surpassed one million fans in total attendance and has broadcast deals that include CBS, Roku, Vice, and Ion. MLV is one of several professional women's volleyball leagues currently operating in the United States. Its main competition includes League One Volleyball (LOVB) and Athletes Unlimited (AU), which features a unique player-centered format. The league is poised for further growth, with expansion franchises in Washington D.C. and Northern California scheduled to begin play in 2027. The addition of these teams would bring the total number of franchises to 11.
