WorkOS Valued at $2B
WorkOS raised $100 million in Series C funding at a $2 billion valuation, with some of the fastest-growing AI companies as customers. The developer infrastructure company's massive valuation highlights the critical synergy between AI infrastructure and next-generation SaaS platforms.
The latest funding round was led by Meritech Capital and Sapphire Ventures, with participation from existing investors Greenoaks, Abstract Ventures, and others. This infusion of capital is intended to help WorkOS expand its platform to better support the increasing number of AI companies requiring enterprise-grade infrastructure. WorkOS was founded in 2019 by Michael Grinich, who previously co-founded and served as CEO of Nylas. Grinich's experience at Nylas, where he encountered the challenges of making a product "enterprise-ready," directly inspired the creation of WorkOS. The company aims to provide developers with the necessary tools to easily add enterprise features to their applications. The company's product suite includes APIs for features like Single Sign-On (SSO), Directory Sync, Audit Logs, and Multi-Factor Authentication. These tools are designed to help software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies sell to large enterprises, which often have strict security and compliance requirements. WorkOS has seen significant growth in its customer base, expanding from around 200 paying customers in June 2022 to over 1,000 by early 2025. The company's annual recurring revenue was estimated to be $30 million as of October 2025. Notable customers include Vercel, Webflow, Loom, Perplexity, and AI-powered platforms like Copy.ai and AI21 Labs. This Series C funding follows an $80 million Series B round in June 2022, which was led by Greenoaks and valued the company at $525 million. The new $2 billion valuation represents a nearly fourfold increase in under two years. Prior to the Series B, WorkOS had raised a $15 million Series A in March 2021.
