North Side Hosts Wedding Vendor Showcase

The "North Side Wedding Walk" took place in Chicago today, connecting prospective couples with local venues and vendors. The event highlights the continued growth and vibrancy of the city's wedding industry.

The North Side Wedding Walk is organized by Urban Allure Events and is now in its second year, modeled after the popular West Loop Wedding Walk. The event provides a curated tour of various North Side venues, allowing couples to see the spaces fully decorated as they would be for a real wedding and connect with a range of local vendors. Participating venues showcase the North Side's popular industrial-chic aesthetic. Locations like Artifact Events in Ravenswood, a converted factory, offer a blend of historic charm and modern design with exposed brick and soaring ceilings. Similarly, The Joinery in Logan Square, a former woodworking shop, provides a light-filled space with a private outdoor patio, emphasizing sustainability and reclaimed materials. Another stop on the tour, Rockwell on the River in the Avondale neighborhood, boasts over 16,000 square feet of event space with high lofted ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Chicago River. These unique, non-traditional spaces are part of a growing trend where couples are moving away from traditional ballrooms to venues with more distinct character. The event highlights the significant economic impact of the wedding industry in the Chicago metropolitan area. In 2025, the industry was valued at over $1.8 billion, with an estimated 44,045 weddings taking place. The average cost of a wedding in Chicago in 2025 was approximately $54,190, significantly higher than the national average, underscoring the high value placed on vendor services in the city. Events like the Wedding Walk serve as a crucial engine for numerous local small businesses, including caterers, florists, photographers, and entertainers. This type of wedding tourism stimulates the local economy by drawing couples and their guests to specific neighborhoods, boosting spending at area restaurants, shops, and hotels.
