Slice House Pizza Coming to Fremont
A Slice House pizza restaurant is slated to open in Fremont's Pacific Commons shopping center. The upcoming addition was announced by Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan, adding another dining option to the growing commercial hub.
The new Fremont location brings Slice House founder Tony Gemignani back to his roots; he was born and raised in the city. Gemignani is a 13-time World Pizza Champion, a U.S. Ambassador of Neapolitan Pizza, and the first American to win the World Pizza Cup in Naples, Italy. Slice House is known for offering a variety of pizza styles by the slice, allowing customers to sample different types. The menu typically features New York, Sicilian, Detroit, and Grandma styles, with options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets. The franchise is in a period of rapid growth, with over 140 locations open or in development across several states. The fast-casual concept, focused on quick service and takeout, proved to be a sustainable model, prompting the official launch of the national franchise program in July 2022. Pacific Commons is one of Northern California's largest power centers, spanning over a million square feet of retail space. The shopping hub features major anchor tenants like Costco, Target, Lowe's, and a 16-screen Century Theatres multiplex.
