The West Side Ripple Mural Project's Echo-Lit event was a celebration of eight selected artists and community members who collaborated to create the murals. The project is part of a larger effort to create a West Side ArtsPark, anchored by a mural fence, to transform shared space into a place for creativity and community gathering. The murals reflect the themes of community, growth, and creativity, capturing the vibes that organizers hoped to share with the community. The West Virginia Creative Network (WVCN), West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service, and Echo-Lit partnered to host the celebration. The Ripple program, a collaboration between WVCN and WVSU Extension Service, is an artist-led community and economic development initiative. The goal is to foster a shared vision of collaboration for developing public art and supporting local artists by connecting them with other businesses. The West Side ArtsPark will be a fenced-in green space next to Echo-Lit for community events.
