NFL Free Agency Explodes with Blockbusters

The Baltimore Ravens' acquisition of Maxx Crosby involved a significant price: their 2026 and 2027 first-round draft picks. This marks the first time in the Ravens' 31-year history they have traded a first-round pick for a player. Crosby is currently under a three-year, $106.5 million contract he signed with the Raiders in March 2025. Jordan Davis's new three-year, $78 million deal makes him the highest-paid nose tackle in NFL history. The extension, which includes $65 million in guaranteed money, ties him for the second-highest average annual salary among all interior defensive linemen, trailing only Chris Jones of the Chiefs. The massive deal comes after a career year for Davis in 2025, where he set personal bests in tackles (72), sacks (4.5), and snaps played (686). Kam Curl's new three-year, $36 million contract, with $24 million guaranteed, marks a significant payday for a former seventh-round pick. He earned the contract after a career-best season where he recorded 122 tackles. Opposing quarterbacks had a career-low 82.4 passer rating when targeting Curl last season. The Chicago Bears acquired center Garrett Bradbury from the New England Patriots for a 2027 fifth-round pick. The move was precipitated by the surprise retirement of Bears center Drew Dalman. Bradbury, who started every game for the Patriots last season, did not allow a single sack or commit a penalty in 642 pass-blocking snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. The trade allows the Patriots to move 2025 third-round pick Jared Wilson to his natural center position.
