Jrue Holiday Drops 35
Jrue Holiday delivered a season-high 35 points to power Portland past Memphis 122-114 Wednesday night. Jerami Grant provided strong support as the Trail Blazers snapped their losing streak. Memphis continues struggling in what's been a challenging season for the Grizzlies.
Jrue Holiday's 35-point outburst was not only a season-high but also came with an efficient 11 assists, leading the Trail Blazers. While impressive, it wasn't a personal best for the veteran guard, who once scored 51 points in a game back in March 2023. Jerami Grant's 30-point contribution marked his fourth time hitting that mark in the season. The victory for Portland snapped a two-game losing streak, and the team had lost four of their last six games heading into the matchup against Memphis. The win is crucial as the Trail Blazers are making a push for a spot in the postseason play-in tournament. The Memphis Grizzlies' challenging season is largely due to a slew of injuries. For this game, they were without key players including Ja Morant, who was missing his 18th consecutive game with an elbow injury. Other notable players on the injured list for the Grizzlies were Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Brandon Clarke, and Zach Edey. Looking ahead, the Trail Blazers will travel to face the Houston Rockets on Friday. The Grizzlies will return home to host the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
