Equinix launches Fabric Intelligence

Equinix introduced Fabric Intelligence, an AI‑native operational layer meant to automate and optimise multi‑cloud, data‑centre and edge networking for AI workloads. The preview bundles automation and insights aimed at simplifying connectivity and operational decisions across hybrid environments. (stocktitan.net)

Equinix said April 15 it is making Fabric Intelligence available in preview, adding artificial intelligence agents to run network connections across cloud, data center and edge systems. (investor.equinix.com) A network is the plumbing that moves data between computers, clouds and private servers. Equinix said Fabric Intelligence is meant to automate that plumbing for artificial intelligence workloads that often span several locations at once. (investor.equinix.com) The new layer bundles four pieces: Fabric Super Agent, Model Context Protocol Server, Fabric Application Connect and Fabric Insights. Equinix said those tools can answer questions, recommend changes, connect applications and surface operational data inside one system. (stocktitan.net) Equinix is pitching the product at a moment when companies are trying to place graphics processing units, storage and models close to their data without locking everything into one cloud. The company said Fabric Intelligence is designed for hybrid setups that mix public clouds, private infrastructure and edge sites. (equinix.mediaroom.com) That fits Equinix’s larger push to sell not just colocation space, but managed artificial intelligence infrastructure around it. In March 2025, Equinix said it would support NVIDIA Instant AI Factory managed by Equinix, built around NVIDIA DGX systems and DGX SuperPOD deployments in Equinix facilities. (blog.equinix.com) NVIDIA describes DGX SuperPOD as a turnkey artificial intelligence data center for organizations building “AI factories,” or large clusters for training and running models. That makes the network between those clusters, clouds and enterprise data stores a bottleneck Equinix now wants to manage with software as well as cables and cabinets. (nvidia.com) Equinix said the service sits on top of its existing Fabric platform, which the company says reaches more than 280 data centers in 77 metro areas and serves more than 4,400 customers. Those numbers matter because the product depends on Equinix already sitting between corporate systems, cloud providers and telecom carriers. (stocktitan.net) Fabric Intelligence is not a general chatbot for writing code or generating text. Equinix said it is an operations layer that uses agents and telemetry to make network decisions faster, with a demonstration planned at Google Cloud Next 2026. (investor.equinix.com)
