Exhumed Delivers Gore Grind Energy Live

Exhumed's show at The Lost Well featured bassists spitting in fans' mouths, Kreator worship, and intense gore grind energy alongside No Mas and Oxygen Destroyer. The death metal veterans continue delivering extreme live experiences — show exemplifies the raw, confrontational nature of underground metal performances.

The ongoing tour supports Exhumed's latest album, "Red Asphalt," which was released on February 20, 2026, via Relapse Records. The album's theme departs from their usual B-movie horror tropes to explore the real-life horrors of life on the road, including car accidents and the dangers of relentless touring. This concept was partly inspired by a serious accident involving guitarist Matt Harvey in the 1990s. The band is currently on a U.S. headlining tour that began on February 19, 2026, and will run through March 21, with support from Oxygen Destroyer and No/Más. Following the North American dates, Exhumed is scheduled to tour Europe and the UK with the band Gruesome in April and May, followed by dates in Australia and New Zealand. Formed in 1990 in San Jose, California, Exhumed is a long-standing and influential name in the extreme metal scene. The band was founded by Matt Harvey when he was just 15 years old and has been a pioneering force in the goregrind genre, a style that blends death metal and grindcore. Their 1998 debut album, "Gore Metal," is considered a defining release in the genre. The band's lineup has seen numerous changes over its three-decade history, with Matt Harvey remaining the sole constant member. The current lineup includes Ross Sewage on bass and vocals, Mike Hamilton on drums, and Sebastian Philips on guitars, alongside Harvey. After a hiatus from 2005 to 2010, the band reformed and has been actively recording and touring since.
