RayNeo Launches Batman AR Glasses
Augmented reality firm RayNeo unveiled a special Batman Edition of its new RayNeo Air 4 Pro smart glasses at MWC 2026. The new AR wearables became available for purchase on February 27.
The special edition glasses are more than just a branding exercise; they come in two distinct themes: the "Justice Edition" for Batman and a "Chaos Edition" inspired by the Joker. Each includes a snap-on lens shade designed to look like the respective character's mask, allowing for what the company calls "everyday cosplay expression." Underneath the comic book exterior, the Air 4 Pro glasses are positioned as a "head-mounted TV," projecting a virtual 201-inch screen in the wearer's field of view. They are the first AR glasses to support HDR10, a feature enabled by a custom Vision 4000 image-processing chip, which also allows for real-time 2D-to-3D video conversion. The dual Micro-OLED displays offer a peak brightness of 1200 nits and a 120Hz refresh rate. For audio, RayNeo partnered with the high-end Danish brand Bang & Olufsen to tune the four-speaker system. The design also incorporates "sound tubes" to direct the audio to the user's ears and minimize sound leakage. Despite the technology packed inside, the glasses maintain a relatively low weight of 76 grams. The Air 4 Pro is an iterative update to the company's previous Air 3s Pro model. While it uses the same chassis, the key upgrades are the HDR10 support and the enhanced B&O-tuned audio. The standard edition of the Air 4 Pro is priced at $299, with the Batman editions carrying a $20 premium at $319, though early bird pricing brought the cost down to $269. This launch comes as RayNeo holds a significant position in the consumer AR market. According to Counterpoint Research, the company, which was incubated by electronics giant TCL, was the top global seller of AR glasses in the third quarter of 2025, capturing a 24% market share. The launch at MWC 2026 is part of a broader trend at the event, which saw a notable shift in focus from virtual reality headsets to the burgeoning market for AR and AI-powered smart glasses.
