Fremont Area Car Club will hold its third annual Show and Shine on Saturday, May 9, in Fremont, with entries open to cars, trucks, motorcycles and tractors of any age or condition. The event is scheduled at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1546 N. Luther Road, according to the club’s event posting. The club said registration will run from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., with the show itself set for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Entry costs $10 per vehicle, and spectators can attend free, the club said. Trophy presentations are scheduled for 1 p.m. Brent Wasenius of local radio station Mix 105.5 reported that one goal of the show is to give owners who do not usually display their vehicles a place to bring them. (fremontareacarclub.com) The event does not use formal judging, but organizers plan to hand out 12 trophies across multiple categories, Wasenius reported. Two new categories this year are the Long-Distance Award and the Work in Progress Award, according to Wasenius’s report. (fremontareacarclub.com) That means unfinished vehicles, including projects that have not yet been fully started, are eligible to appear alongside restored and customized entries. Club organizers said the trophies are custom-made and one of a kind. (thebestmix1055.com) Wasenius reported that members build them from old automotive, bicycle and tractor parts, a detail the Fremont Tribune preview also highlighted in describing the show’s distinctive awards. Four food vendors are expected on site: Salt & Pepper Barbecue, Heladeria Reinita Ice Cream, Heladeria Taqueria Mexican Food, and Nebraska’s Best Kettle Corn, according to the Mix 105.5 report. (thebestmix1055.com) The club’s event notice also said the show will include door prizes and invited families to attend and vote for their favorite vehicle. Major sponsors listed for the event include Goree Backhoe & Excavating, Diers Ford-Lincoln, Sid Dillon Auto Group, Steffy’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, Tailgate Motors and Dillon Brothers Harley-Davidson, along with several other local businesses, Wasenius reported. The club, formerly known as the Fremont Antique Car Club, says on its website that it changed its name in 2022 to reflect a broader mix of vehicle enthusiasts. (fremontareacarclub.com) Saturday’s show follows earlier editions held in Fremont in 2024 and 2025, according to archived event listings on the club and tourism websites. For this year’s event, the club directed questions to Doug at 402-720-4823 or Shawn at 402-707-0739, and said updates would be posted on its Facebook page. (visitfremontne.org) (thebestmix1055.com)
