Paris Baguette Opens New Texas Location
The bakery café chain Paris Baguette opened a new location in Richardson, Texas, on February 27. The opening is part of an ongoing U.S. expansion for the brand, which operates over 4,000 locations worldwide.
The South Korean-owned bakery-cafe is aggressively expanding toward a goal of 1,000 locations in North America by 2030. The company has experienced 19 consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales, with average unit volumes nearing $3 million. The Richardson opening marks the 25th Paris Baguette in Texas. This growth is supported by a new $160 million, 260,000-square-foot manufacturing facility under construction in Burleson, Texas, which will supply artisanal pastries and breads to its North American cafes starting in 2027. Despite its name, Paris Baguette was founded in Seoul, South Korea, in 1988 by businessman Hur Young-in. It is owned by the SPC Group, a South Korean food and confectionery conglomerate that also operates the Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin' Donuts brands in Korea. The brand's menu blends French-inspired pastries with unique Asian flavors. Popular items include Strawberry Mochi Donuts, various croissants, and signature cakes like the Strawberry Soft Cream Cake, alongside savory options and a coffee program anchored by Lavazza. Growth in the U.S. is primarily driven by franchising. The new Richardson location, for example, is the first of a five-unit development agreement signed by franchisees Sweta Goyal, Puneet Mittal, Mamta Singhal, and Rajneesh Singhal.
