Persian Restaurant to Open in Westlake Village
A new Persian restaurant, Yār on the Lake, is scheduled to open this spring in Westlake Village. The establishment will be located at The Landing, taking over the space formerly occupied by Zin Bistro Americana.
The team behind Zin Bistro Americana is rebranding the lakefront space, not closing it. The new concept, Yār on the Lake, is a pivot to Persian-inspired Mediterranean communal dining, moving away from Zin's focus on nostalgic American cuisine. This change comes after Zin Bistro Americana closed at the end of 2025 for a remodel, with the ownership teasing a "new chapter" for the popular Westlake Village location. The same ownership team, who have been residents of Westlake Village for over 40 years, are the ones launching this new establishment. The name "Yār" translates to "friend" in Persian, reflecting the new restaurant's aim to create a welcoming, communal atmosphere rooted in the belief that hospitality is sacred. The shift from an American bistro to a Mediterranean concept introduces a new style of cuisine to the dining landscape at The Landing, which currently features a mix of American, Asian, and Italian eateries.
